a.s.r. has risen to second place in the annual Responsible Investment by Insurance Companies in the Netherlands benchmark of the Dutch Association of Investors for Sustainable Development (VBDO).
VBDO today published its benchmark for the seventh time. The report shows how the 30 largest Dutch insurers structure, implement and report on their responsible investment policy. Last time the benchmark was published, a.s.r. was in third place. This year, it was again awarded a score of 3.9 on a scale from 1 to 5. You can read the full report here.
Jack Julicher, Chief Investment Officer at a.s.r.: ‘We’re delighted with this score, given that socially responsible investment is a high priority for a.s.r. This is, of course, also reflected in our latest campaign, in which we stress that a.s.r. doesn’t invest in companies that rely on child labour or are involved in the arms trade or in the tobacco industry. Our rise to second place in the VBDO ranking proves that awareness of our ethical investment policy now extends beyond our own organization as well.’
