Today, a.s.r. publishes its first climate report. This publication contains information about a.s.r.’s climate policy with regard to its objectives, activities, climate risks and results. Using practical examples and illustrations, a.s.r. wants to show how it takes responsibility and exerts its influence to combat climate change and encourage the energy transition.
Climate change and energy transition is one of the three themes with which a.s.r. want to make an impact in the field of sustainability. In previous years, a.s.r. reported about this in the Annual Report, but due to the increasing importance of this topic, a.s.r. is now publishing a separate climate. This public-friendly version is available digitally in Dutch and English and will be published annually on the a.s.r. website.
Annechien ten Brink, sustainability manager at a.s.r.: ‘Sustainability is an integral part of our strategy. In this climate report, you can read that ‘climate’ is part of our investment strategy as well as our products and services. In this report we explain how we did this. By making our climate policy and performance more accessible to a wider public, we also hope to further our dialogue with stakeholders. After all, as a society we are facing an ever greater challenge to combat climate change and protect ourselves from its effects.’
