a.s.r. will discontinue the Ditzo and Europeesche Verzekeringen brands. From 17 April 2023 the insurance policies of both brands will be offered under the name of a.s.r. With this move, a.s.r. aims to reduce the number of brands and further strengthen the a.s.r. brand.

ASR Nederland N.V. (a.s.r.) publishes its 2022 annual report and climate report today. The integrated annual report covers both a.s.r.’s sustainability performance and its financial performance in 2022. This year, a.s.r. will once again publish a separate climate report with the aim of describing the principles and activities regarding climate for stakeholders. In the climate report, a.s.r. discusses the climate risks for its own activities, customers and society in general.

ASR Nederland N.V. (a.s.r.) takes a majority interest in Soople, a damage repair company owned by Plegt-Vos, and a minority interest in Fixxer, a new company set up in collaboration with Belfius Insurance. Fixxer will be responsible for the management and further development of the digital service platform for non-life customers. Both companies have specialist knowledge and experience that will enable a.s.r. to take the next step in its strategy as a sustainable non-life insurer: a.s.r. wants to focus even more strongly on sustainable damage repair and, in due course, offer this to its customers as efficiently as possible.

Chief Executive Officer a.s.r. asset management, Jack Julicher, will hand over his tasks and responsibilities to his colleague Patrick Klijnsmit on 1 April. Patrick has held various roles at a.s.r. since September 1999. For the past few weeks, Patrick has been accompanying Jack to ensure a smooth transition and to be prepared for his new role.

As from Monday 20 March 2023, ASR Nederland N.V. (a.s.r.) will be included in the AEX index. Euronext, the leading stock exchange in the eurozone, announced the results of the annual review of their main equity indices.

The Net-Zero Insurance Alliance (NZIA), initiated by the United Nations and the international insurance industry, yesterday launched the Alliance’s first Target-Setting Protocol (TSP) at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum. An important milestone 18 months after the Alliance was founded. The protocol – the first of its kind for the global insurance industry – assists member (re)insurers in setting their first intermediate net zero targets with a target year of no later than 2030. a.s.r. signed the NZIA in December 2021 and was one of those involved in drawing up the TSP.

a.s.r. has won the award for the most innovative and inspiring HR policy in the Netherlands. Last Thursday, the HR Proffie ceremony 2022 was held in Amsterdam. AON and Heembouw were the other contenders.
