During the Paris Proof Congress on Thursday 30 November, organised by the Dutch Green Building Council (DGBC), a.s.r. received a WEii certificate with the qualification Paris Proof for its head office in Utrecht. This means that the building meets the Paris Proof standard of a maximum use of 70 kWh/m2 per year.
WEii stands for Actual Energy Intensity Indicator and provides uniform insight into what energy a building uses per square meter per year. In addition to a.s.r., INNAX and RoyalHaskoningDHV also received a certificate for their office buildings.
Paul Hartenberg, Team Manager Housing, a.s.r.: 'This is a great recognition of our sustainability ambition. And although we are already Paris Proof, we also see how we can improve even further. For example, 3000 LED lamps in our head office are currently being replaced, saving an additional 200,000 kWh annually.'
Martin Mooij, programme manager at DGBC: "The a.s.r. head office in Utrecht is a good example of a 1970s office building that, after an extensive renovation, meets the latest sustainability requirements. It is one of the first Paris Proof exemplary projects, which has further improved the score over the years to 59 kWh/m2 per year."
