ASR Nederland N.V. will nominate Bob Elfring as a new member of the Supervisory Board at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGM) on 29 May 2024. Bob Elfring succeeds Herman Hintzen, who has completed his second term.
Bob Elfring (1959) studied Law and Economics at the University of Groningen. He started his career at Amro Bank in 1984 and then worked in the financial sector for 40 years. Initially from Amsterdam for Dutch banks, including MeesPierson, later also for foreign banks in London and Zurich. From 2011 to 2018, he was responsible for Corporate and Investment Banking in Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. From 2019 to 2021, Bob Elfring worked as a Senior Advisor for CVC Capital Partners. Since 2021, he works at J.P. Morgan as Vice Chairman EMEA Investment Banking.
Bob Elfring is a member of the Supervisory Board of Royal BAM Groep N.V. since 2020 and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Vuyk Holding B.V. since 2021.
Joop Wijn, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of a.s.r.: 'Bob has a broad knowledge of the financial sector and capital markets. The Dutch Central Bank (DNB) has approved the appointment of Bob Elfring. Following his appointment by the AGM on 29 May 2024, Bob Elfring will immediately join the Supervisory Board and as a member of the Audit and Risk Committee and the Remuneration Committee.
At the AGM, shareholders can also vote for the reappointment of Joop Wijn, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of a.s.r. Joop Wijn has been a member of the Supervisory Board of a.s.r. since October 2020. The second term of appointment runs until the AGM 2028.
