Europeesche Verzekeringen to move to Utrecht

Europeesche Verzekeringen will relocate from Amsterdam to Utrecht. With effect from 1 April 2016, the travel and leisure insurance specialist will be operating from the a.s.r. headquarters in Utrecht.

The Executive Board of a.s.r. has decided to relocate its travel and leisure insurance specialist Europeesche Verzekeringen from Amsterdam to the fully refurbished a.s.r. office in Utrecht.

a.s.r. Executive Board member Karin Bergstein said of the decision: ‘We are constantly working to improve the efficiency of our organization in order to make ourselves more customer-friendly and minimize our costs. The move to Utrecht will enable Europeesche Verzekeringen to work more closely with a.s.r.’s P&C and underwriting agency businesses, and allow the divisions to pool their expertise. We will also be able to further improve our service to the customers and intermediaries of Europeesche Verzekeringen and a.s.r.’

Europeesche Verzekeringen will continue to operate as a specialist in the travel and leisure insurance market. Its work with partners such as intermediaries and underwriters will also continue unchanged. The Manager of Europeesche Verzekeringen, who has yet to be appointed, will report to Robert van der Schaaf, Director of Non-Life, from 1 April 2016.

The Executive Board of a.s.r. is in negotiations with the current Managing Director of Europeesche Verzekeringen, Gerard ten Brincke, to discuss the continuation of his career after 1 April 2016, either with a.s.r. or elsewhere.

The proposal to relocate the organization has been submitted to the a.s.r. Works Council for a formal opinion.
