a.s.r. has received a bronze medal from S&P Global, world leader in credit ratings, for the results achieved in the sustainability stock market indicator Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI). Only six Dutch companies received a medal from S&P this year. a.s.r. is the only insurer in this group.
a.s.r. received the medal because it scored 86 out of the maximum possible 100 points in the DJSI and ended up at a distance of less than 10% from leader Allianz, which scored 93 points. 186 insurance companies worldwide participate in the DJSI.
According to Natalie van der Pol, coordinator of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index at a.s.r., this recognition is the result of a combination of ambition and commitment: ‘In recent years, we have always looked for areas for improvement and have realised these in cooperation with colleagues from other departments within a.s.r. as much as possible. This way, year after year, we have been able to increase our score and now we have the bronze medal to show for this. I am proud that a.s.r. has established itself in the top 10% of global sustainable insurers!’
In addition to the bronze medal, a.s.r. is also included in the Sustainability Yearbook. The Sustainability Yearbook is published by S&P Global, the world leader in credit ratings, benchmarks and analysis on global capital and commodity markets, and provides in-depth data and insights on critical business factors where sustainability is increasingly important.
