Today, hundreds of a.s.r. employees across the country are rolling up their sleeves for the second edition of Doenkracht Donderdag (‘Doenkracht Thursday’). Doenkracht, a.s.r.’s social program, is organising dozens of social initiatives from each of a.s.r.’s locations today. The commitment to social activities is one of a.s.r.’s non-financial targets and contributes to the mission of helping by doing.
From Leeuwarden to Heerlen and from Enschede to The Hague, a.s.r. employees are engaging in a wide variety of social initiatives across the country today. For example, there is a SUP Clean Up where waste is removed from the water, a rollator wash street set up at a nursing home, and a slide for children in a hospital.
Marijke Troost, manager of the Doenkracht programme at a.s.r.: ‘What started as a new initiative last year has already grown into a successful tradition: today, more than 650 a.s.r. employees across the country are rolling up their sleeves. It is great to see how we as an organisation not only talk about social impact but also actually do it. This day connects us with each other and with society.’
With the success of this second edition, Doenkracht Donderdag seems to have secured a permanent place in the annual Doenkracht programme.
