a.s.r. rings the gong to mark 10 years of being listed

To mark the 10th anniversary of its listing, CEO Ingrid de Swart today rang the gong at the opening of trading on Euronext Amsterdam. Exactly ten years ago, a.s.r. returned to the stock exchange.

For a.s.r., this moment marks ten years as a listed company since its reintroduction to the stock exchange in 2016. Over the past decade, a.s.r. has developed into one of the leading insurers in the Netherlands, with a clear focus on sustainable value creation for stakeholders: customers, employees, society and shareholders. The combination of organic growth and targeted, profitable acquisitions has contributed to a strengthened market position and a solid financial profile.
The initial public offering took place at an issue price of € 19.50, resulting in a market capitalisation of € 2.9 billion. Yesterday afternoon’s closing price was € 63.30, representing a market cap of € 13 billion. In addition to this share price increase, shareholders have also benefited from rising dividends. Over the past ten years, the a.s.r. share has delivered an average total shareholder return of circa 19% per year. This development reflects the consistent execution of the strategy.
Ingrid de Swart, CEO a.s.r.: ‘Ringing the gong today marks a special moment for a.s.r. and our employees. Our listing on 10 June 2016 and our successful access to the capital markets for both equity and debt capital have given us the financial flexibility to continue investing in a future-proof strategy. We are grateful for the trust placed in us by our shareholders and proud of the steps we have taken since 2016. a.s.r. has a strong foundation, a solid capital position and is well positioned for organic growth and selective consolidation in the Dutch market, with a continued focus on value creation for our customers, society and our shareholders.’
