a.s.r. completes acquisition of Bovemij’s insurance activities
Today, ASR Nederland N.V. (a.s.r.) and BOVAG announce they have completed the acquisition by a.s.r. of Bovemij’s insurance activities. All required approvals from regulators have been obtained, and the relevant works councils have issued a positive advice. All conditions have therefore been met.
a.s.r. and BOVAG announced the intended acquisition and strategic partnership on 8 January 2026. The acquisition comprises the insurance activities of Bovemij, a leading insurer for the mobility sector.
With the completion of the transaction, a.s.r. and BOVAG take an important step in their partnership. As of today, the insurance activities of Bovemij form part of a.s.r. In addition, a.s.r. and BOVAG will establish a joint venture for the distribution activities of Bovemij and ENRA, aimed at further strengthening the services provided to entrepreneurs in the mobility sector. There will be no changes for customers: they can continue to rely on the familiar service and support.

Now that the transaction has been completed, a.s.r. will commence the integration of Bovemij’s insurance activities. This will be carried out in phases, with due attention to customers, distribution partners and employees.

a.s.r. publishes research into the slavery past of its legal predecessors and offers apologies
a.s.r. today publishes the findings of historical research it commissioned into the colonial and slavery past of its legal predecessors. The research shows that legal predecessors of a.s.r. were involved in, and helped enable, the colonial and slavery system. They insured slave ships, colonial commodity flows and commercial interests directly connected to slavery and forced labour. a.s.r. successfully closes Delphinus 2026-I RMBS transaction
Last Thursday, ASR Hypotheken B.V. (a.s.r.) successfully issued €600 million in Residential Mortgage-Backed Security (RMBS) notes through its securitisation programme Delphinus.
