Foundations and Funds
a.s.r. is committed to conserving cultural and social heritage and is involved in a number of nation-wide and local foundations. a.s.r. predecessor De Utrecht's historical library cabinet, for example, was given a sublime spot in the a.s.r. building after more than 40 years of peregrination. The local ties mostly stem from the past presence of an a.s.r. division in a city of town.
Foundation for Art & Historical Artefacts a.s.r. & Aegon
The purpose of the Foundation for Art & Historical Property is twofold. Firstly to retain a.s.r.’s rich company history. Secondly to make art accessible to employees, thus contributing to an inspiring work environment.
De Amersfoortse's Social Cultural Foundation
The Social Cultural Foundation of the Amersfoortse, or A-foundation, emerged in 1982 from the Foundation The Blue-White Cross (Dutch: Stichting Het Blauw-Witte Kruis) founded in 1938. The foundation’s aim is to promote social and cultural activities in general and in the greater Amersfoort area in particular.
Applications for a financial contribution to a social-cultural activity are accepted when submitted by a foundation or association; individuals cannot apply. The application should come with a description of the activity and the related budget. The contributions made by the fund are one-off and range from a few hundred to a maximum of a few thousand euros.
The members of the Board are Mr F.J.M. Romijn (chair), Mr H.J. Volkers (secretary), Mr P.J. Scholten, Ms J.T.H. Baltus and Ms A.M.G. Mosch. Mr J.C. van Ek is advisor.
