a.s.r. wants to remain a frontrunner among sustainable insurers. This is why a.s.r. is taking the next step in making its own investment portfolio more sustainable. a.s.r. also seeks to actively help its insurance customers to become more sustainable.

a.s.r. has signed a plea for strict targets in the coalition agreement for mobility without emissions. New lease cars should run entirely on electricity or hydrogen from 2025 and new passenger cars from 2030, in line with the Climate Agreement. At a.s.r., all new lease cars will run on electricity starting this year.

On 1 January 2022, a.s.r. will incorporate a new holding company for the distribution and service companies of a.s.r. The new holding company will have its own management board that will be responsible for developing a central strategy and promoting cooperation and synergy of the companies that make up the holding company. The companies will retain their own identity and organizational structure and remain to operate independent of a.s.r.

On Thursday evening, a.s.r. received the FD Henri Sijthoff Award for its 2020 annual report. a.s.r.'s annual report had already been nominated three times for this annual award of Het Financieele Dagblad for companies that stand out in their reporting. In the category of annual reports of AEX funds, a.s.r. beat the other nominees ASML and Just Eat Takeaway. Van Landschot Kempen won the award in the other listed companies category and Royal Swinkels won in the unlisted companies category.

a.s.r. asset management ranked third in the benchmark presented every two years by the Dutch Association of Investors for Sustainable Development (VBDO). In this ranking, the sustainable investment policies of 30 Dutch insurers are compared. In the previous edition, a.s.r. was still in the lead.

Sustainalytics has proclaimed a.s.r. as most sustainable insurer worldwide in the July 2021 update. a.s.r. tops the list of the 276 considered insurers. In addition, with this rating a.s.r. ranks within the 1% most sustainable companies in the world.

On Tuesday 7 December 2021, a.s.r. will host a virtual Analyst & Investor Update.

Effectory has proclaimed a.s.r. World-class Workplace of the Netherlands, the result of a large-scale survey by Effectory into good employment practices. The World-class Workplace (also known as the Best Employer-) quality mark is awarded to any organisation exceeding the benchmark of a specific region or worldwide.

The Executive Board of a.s.r. has signed the Diversity Charter of Diversiteit in Bedrijf. This is a declaration of intent by which a.s.r. commits itself to its own goals of promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

a.s.r. plans to appoint René Draaisma, Marketing & Distribution Manager at a.s.r. Vitality, as Director of Intermediary Distribution Income & Healthcare in the course of next year. He will succeed Luuk de Vos, who has indicated that he will retire in 2022. René will start in his new position on 1 September this year to ensure a smooth handover.

a.s.r. has decided to discontinue the De Amersfoortse brand. From today, income and health insurance policies for self-employed persons and employers will be offered under the a.s.r. brand. With this step, a.s.r. wants to further strengthen its brand. A national campaign to make this public is starting today.

Service provider VKG, an independent division of a.s.r., has acquired the Lodewijk group. The Lodewijk group consists of Lodewijk Assurantiën and the mandeted agent Lodewijk Assuradeuren. The company employs 45 people, which has offices in Wezep, Kampen and Heerenveen.

This year, a.s.r. was proclaimed a World-class Workplace in the financial services sector. This is the result of a large-scale survey by Effectory into good employment practices.

Insurance magazine AM announced the new AM 100 top women on Thursday 4 March. Five women from a.s.r. achieved the top 100 of which two were the top 10.

Most damage in and around the home is often still repaired by replacing the entire product or repairing it using new parts. This is damaging to the environment. On 8 February, a.s.r. will therefore launch a campaign to make its customers aware of the contribution they can make to the environment by opting for sustainable damage repair.

A majority of the members of FNV Finance, De Unie and CNV Vakmensen agrees to the negotiating result reached. This means that a new CLA has been concluded for a.s.r. Employees of a.s.r. will receive a structural salary increase of 2.25% on 1 March 2021 and a further 2.25% on 1 March 2022. In addition, employees will receive a one-off payment of €300 gross in addition to their salary in February.
